Preparing our students for an ever changing world.
Town’s approach to technology is aligned with our school’s philosophical framework of Self, Others, and Surroundings.
Our approach to curriculum, devices, and offerings is intended to meet students where they are developmentally and prepare them skillfully, emotionally, and creatively for an ever changing, technology-driven world.
Each student from Nursery to Eighth grade is issued their own iPad as part of Town’s 1-to-1 iPad program. Town is focused on building our students' understanding of Computational Thinking through meaningful activities that begin as early as our nursery program and continue in every grade thereafter.
Other curriculum highlights include our integration with Minecraft Education Edition throughout the Lower and Upper School curriculum. Students are exposed to digital fabrication tools and methods using 3D printers, laser cutters, as well as physical computing platforms like the BBC Micro:bit, and block based coding platforms such as Scratch, Makecode, and Turtle Art.
Starting in 5th grade, Town’s Upper School LEGO robotics teams give our students meaningful opportunities to work together to solve problems, innovate ideas, and most importantly, have fun. Town’s LEGO robotics teams compete in the First Lego League Challenge citywide and beyond.
Town partners with both Common Sense Media and The Social Institute to help students and families of all grades navigate the challenges of social media and digital fluency in a healthy and positive way, both at school and at home.
