Try on Town: special events for applying families. 

We are building on our very successful year of in-person learning as we plan for 2021-22, but to best support our community's health and the health of our applying families, our Admissions events will continue to be virtual this fall. We had a great time sharing Town with prospective families through a series of online events this past year, and we are excited to continue and enhance our program! Below is an overview of our planned events, and we will continue to update this page with dates and details. Inquire or apply to be automatically included in our invitation list.

Upcoming Admissions Events

Prospective families can look forward to a variety of ways to get to know Town during the Admissions season! Starting this fall, we will offer:

  • Monday, October 18, Virtual Tour of Town, 12:00pm. Join Town faculty members for a virtual walk-through of our building, including insight into our program and our students' experience.
  • Saturday, November 13, Try on Town, multiple events. Join us for a "super Saturday" of virtual events designed for prospective families to get to know Town! The day will include demo lessons with Town faculty, an alumni/ae panel, and a Financial Aid webinar.

  • Meet Town at upcoming school fairs:
  • Monthly drop-in chats with the Head of School
    • Schedule through your Admissions portal once you have submitted your application.
  • Parent ambassador discussion sessions

  • 8th grade student ambassador discussion sessions
    • Schedule through your Admissions portal once you have submitted your application.
  • Panel discussions with the academic team

We know that life doesn't always happen on schedule.

If your family may be applying outside the traditional Admissions season dates, including for the 2021-22 school year, due to relocation or other big life changes, we are happy to work with you.

Online application live August 23, 2021 

Our online application for 2022-23 will be live on our website. Please note a fee waiver is available if needed; contact us for more information.

Appointment scheduling begins September 2021 

Families may begin scheduling parent and child appointments through their application portal.

Parent conversations, child assessments, and Admissions events September 2021 - Early January 2022

Parent conversations, child assessment appointments, and opportunities to connect with our community will be ongoing through this period. Parent tours will begin in early 2022. Note that only families with complete applications will receive a tour. 

Application deadline Wednesday, December 1, 2021

Please complete your application form by this date to be considered for the February/March 2022 decision period. We will accept applications on a rolling basis thereafter. 

Financial Aid application deadline Friday, December 31, 2021

Parent in-person tours begin January 2022

We anticipate offering in-person tours beginning in January 2022 and will post details here by November 2021. Our tours will be in small groups at a variety of times to support health and safety and best serve your needs as a family.

Deadline to complete all application requirements January 7, 2022 

Application files must be complete by this date to receive your admissions decision by the notification dates below. This includes a parent conversation, child assessment, and appropriate testing and school reports.

Notification Dates for 2022-23.

The Town School follows the ISAAGNY notification and reply dates listed below. Please note these decision dates are for families who have completed their application requirements by January 7, 2022. Application files completed after that date will receive decisions on a rolling basis. 

Nursery 3 and Nursery 4 
  • Families will be notified (by email) of their admissions decision not before Thursday, March 3, 2022.
  • Parent replies are due by noon on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
Kindergarten 
  • Families will be notified (by email) of their admissions decision on Thursday, February 3, 2022.
  • Parent replies are due by noon on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
1st - 8th grades 
  • Families will be notified (by email) of their admissions decision not before Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
  • Parent replies are due by noon on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Early Notification Option

Contact admissions for more information about this option for sibling and legacy families applying to Nursery 3, Nursery 4, or Kindergarten.
