8th Graders Visit Vermont Farms for Civic Engagement Trip
As the culmination of their Civic Engagement curriculum, the 8th grade spent four days in Southern Vermont participating in service learning on farms while exploring food justice, healthy planet, and human rights. The students also hiked, swam in swimming holes, went bowling, and spent their last days at Town together making memories.
In school and on the trip, the 8th grade planned a "Day of Service" for the 5th, 6th, and 7th graders to pay their experience forward. On Monday, the Upper School participated in projects including filling the Grassroots Grocery fridge, cleaning up the cul-de-sac and John Jay Park, and engaging in an anti-bullying campaign.
