Students harvest herbs from new ecology lab
The fall, Kindergarten students and members of the Upper School Sustainability Club learned how to plant herbs in the new ecology lab.
The students observed their growth and whether the herbs grew more successfully in the hydroponic tower garden or in traditional soil. If you're curious to know the answer, ask a kindergartener! 6th and 7th graders harvested the fully grown herbs and brought them to the kitchen so that Town's talented chefs could use them in lunches. On Friday, the cafeteria served an organic winter radish salad featuring dill, cilantro, parsley, and mint grown right here at Town!
